The Elite Cage for the Fujinon DUVO 25-1000mm was one of my most challenging projects. In 2022, I reimagined a design for a cage that could wrap around the massive $250,000 Fujinon 25-1000mm box lens—without any mounting points. The solution used rubber contact pads to “hug” the lens, refined through multiple iterations for a secure, precise fit. The final build featured NATO rails on two-sided “carriages,” enabling limitless accessory mounting. It’s one of my proudest blends of engineering and industrial design at Wooden Camera.
